| LOL. Maybe it was ![]() I googled for Penguinocalypse and nothing. Maybe someone made it up and included on it as joke? There's nothing about in on imdb.com, so I am doubting it is true. Who knows though.__________________ { Happy ending } Bea y Álvaro | |||

| thought i'd bring an article over about the WB Goodbye.... WB signs off with parade of greatest-hits pilot episodes By Joanne Ostrow Denver Post TV Critic Considering that most canceled shows never get to say goodbye, it's reassuring that a defunct network is taking an evening this weekend to bid farewell to longtime viewers. Sunday night, the WB looks back at its happiest memories with reruns of the pilot episodes of the hits "Felicity," "Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Dawson's Creek." Those were the days - when we argued about whether Keri Russell should have cut her hair, whether Buffy and Angel would ever get together, whether Spike was really evil or just misguided, and whether the adult-sounding dialogue on "Dawson's" ruined the scripts or elevated them. So many beautiful young faces, so few really great film careers coming out of them. Sure, "Dawson's" alumna Katie Holmes gets some ink, but that's another story. Hard-core fans already have these memorable pilot episodes on tape. But if you are interested in the early days of Holmes, Russell, David Boreanaz, Sarah Michelle Gellar or James van der Beek, Sunday's lineup is for you.... At 9 p.m., Kevin Williamson's "Dawson's" pilot, from January 1998, introduces the fictional town of Capeside, Mass., and the four philosophical and mouthy kids inching toward adulthood. We know what these series meant to fans. But they were also important to the industry, pointing the way to a certain demographic. Moreover, these are the shows partly responsible for the trend toward selling music via television. Warner Bros. and the WB achieved "synergy," while launching bands. Farewell, WB. Your hits will be remembered... Denver Post.com and YouTube has the wb promo for Sunday's marathon of pilots... lots of james!! ![]() link and the wb has a page up link __________________ Dawson&Joey/Pacey&Andie/Nathan&Haley/Jake&Peyton/Seth&Summer/Ryan&Marissa Last edited by dcluv : 09-15-2006 at 04:01 PM. | |||

I counted only TWO clips with Katie/Joey and FOUR, yes FOUR with James/Dawson. How on earth did that happen? James in something mroe than Katie and it's related to DC... pity it's not on the show and just in a promo but still...smallish victory.__________________ Avi by *Nora* JVDB - celebrating 40k

I think they were hoping it'd be picked up for last season. imdb.com only says 2005 and now it doesnt even have James listed but it mentions Three on the James page. __________________ Avi by *Nora* JVDB - celebrating 40k

| hey guys! ![]() i don't kno if anyone else watched the dc pilot last night on the wb ...they showed james a lot (like in promo stuff) throughout the night they showed the james/scott jeep promos before DC started they had a montage of scenes from dc (only season 1&2 clips) and went through the actors/actresses (they didn't do that for anyother show) the wb ended the night w/a montage of all of the actors/actresses that were on the WB ...they showed katie first, then james, josh and michelle was somewhere in the middle then they continued by showing some old wb campaign/promo stuff ...james was the last to be seen. then the frog came on w/Thank You written on top of him ![]() I found it on YouTube: link its not very clear tho __________________ Dawson&Joey/Pacey&Andie/Nathan&Haley/Jake&Peyton/Seth&Summer/Ryan&Marissa Last edited by dcluv : 09-18-2006 at 03:41 PM. | |||

| I loved how James was last. It was so bittersweet. I watched it too. and tapped it. I absolutly loved the James and Scott commercials. An artical about the farewell: The Powers that WB So for old times' sake I had to tune in for the WB's final night. I didn't expect to be so sad. My boss, Dan, has written about the impact of the network in its 11-year history, but for me, so many of the WB shows weren't just groundbreaking, they were like family. Buffy, Angel, Dawson's Creek and Felicity were the ones that the network chose for its farewell party. I might have opted for Everwood or Charmed instead of Angel , just to break up the vampire slaying, but watching these four pilots brought up so many fond memories. It was, however, a little surreal to rewatch these shows, knowing everything we learned about the characters during the course of their series. I got teary-eyed watching Felicity's face when she saw that Julie was in Ben's apartment, and I felt overjoyed when she got up the courage to turn down her parents bribe to return to Stanford. Seeing Noel's feeble attempts to flirt with Felicity, or catching a first glimpse of Megan was just compounded with all my thoughts about the Noel vs. Ben dilemma or with Megan's wild wardrobe and personality transformation. When Felicity uttered her first sentence, "Dear Sally, you might want to be sitting down for this... " I just smiled knowing that this remarkable life-changing experience for Felicity made for a show that touched my heart in so many ways during its run. I didn't have such an emotional reaction to Angel , but it was impressive to see how this fledgling spin-off was able to get past its simple detective-agency beginnings to develop a deep and intricate mythology with many amazing characters. This pilot was missing Lorne, Gunn and Fred, but instead briefly featured a pre-Lost Josh Holloway as a hot vampire. Plus, it had a fresh-from-Sunnydale Cordy, the goofy Doyle and a suited-up Christian Kane. Who could ask for anything more? Oh, right: me. It also gave David Boreanaz a chance to really step out from under Buffy and the Scooby gang and show off his night moves. Not to mention the fact that the Hollywood agent who told Angel he was "a beautiful, beautiful man," hit the nail right on the head. Being such a Buffy fan, I was brokenhearted when he left the show, but somehow giving the brooding Angel his own series really made up for it. Then there was the two-hour Buffy pilot. I have to admit that I originally tuned in to this series solely because I was a fan of the movie, the somewhat cheesy and nowhere near as dark and interesting movie with Kristy Swanson and Pee-Wee Herman. But Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped into those butt-kicking boots, and now I have a hard time thinking of the movie as even connected to the series at all. I haven't watched this pilot since it aired way back when, so I'd forgotten that Eric Balfour played Xander's friend-turned-vampire and I couldn't get over how young they all looked. When Buffy first met Angel, she described him as "dark, gorgeous... in an annoying sort of way." No wonder Giles thought the world was in trouble. Finally there was Dawson's Creek. Out of the four, this is the one series that I gave up on for a while around the fourth season. Still, I did love the first few seasons, so the pilot was a sweet treat to watch again. Little Joey Potter talking to Dawson about walking the dog seemed so edgy when it first aired, but hearing the way kids talk today, it just seems quaint. I guess I have to mention that these were the pre-Cruise days for Katie Holmes, and she was just plain adorable. Joey's shy smile, first experience with lipstick and her verbose arguments with Dawson were, and still are, my favorite things about this episode. And the music just killed me: it was like a time capsule. Speaking of which, I loved the retro promos that they ran with James Van Der Beek and Scott Foley driving in a jeep. One had Scott Foley singing the Paula Cole theme song for Dawson's and another had James Van Der Beek posing the deep question, "Katie Holmes or Keri Russell?" I was much more amused by these than the ones of the Smallville cast running into Michigan J. Frog. Ah, Michigan. I was delighted to see that they brought back the old mascot for the goodbye clip. I got a little misty looking back at all the series that have come and gone in the past 11 years. Not that I'm not beyond thrilled that Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls can occupy the same network, but a lot of the WB shows really meant a lot to me during my formative college and just-out-in-the-real-world years. I'm just grateful that the WB decided to acknowledge its departure from the airways with this simple yet classy send-off. So long, WB. You'll be missed. Source can I just say that I love the writer of this artical. :lo: Im so biased. __________________ nothing going going wild in you, you know i don't do sadness. not even a little bit Icon Credit - shadybrightside | |||
