| **** IMPORTANT: Software Upgrade Announcement - Please Read ****** Just passing by the message about evaluating the boards that was posted by the FF team [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] Hi everyone. Twice a year, sometime during the months of April and October, well be doing post counts to ensure that the message boards here at Fan Forum are busy and thriving, and weve established a minimum sustained post count requirement of 100 posts per board per week for message boards to remain here at Fan Forum. Certain message boards have been exempted from being subject to post count requirements either due to their unique nature, or because theyre less than six months old, and you can check with one of your board moderators to see if the message board that you post on is on this exempt list. Try to think of posting on your board as voting for your board. Just like television shows have ratings that determine whether theyre popular or not, the number of posts on a message board can determine the same thing. We want everyone's favorite message boards to remain here at Fan Forum, so we encourage every member to post on their favorite message boards as often as they can. Thanks! As far as I know, we're not 'in danger' [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] ETA: the James Van Der Beek board reached an average of 222 post per weeks during the month of April. Jst in case you ppl haven't read the annoucement in the right of the page: ---------------- Software Upgrade Announcement - Please Read Hi everyone! Over the next week, Fan Forum will be undergoing a long overdue software upgrade. This new software should improve board performance, provide new features, and increase the security of this site. Many thanks go to the Fan Forum moderators, who for the last few weeks have been helping to beta test the new site. In order to move to the new system, the current Fan Forum boards, posts and users will be backed up Wednesday night, May 5. Posts made or user settings changed on the current boards after that will not show up on the new boards. Also, please note that any saved Private Messages that you may have can't be imported into the new software, so you might want to copy and paste those messages somewhere else on your computer. Important Information: Your Login ID in the new system will be your Publicly Displayed Name in the current system, rather than your Login Name in the current system. This means everyone needs to change their current Publicly Displayed Name to be what they want to be called in the new system by Wednesday, May 5, when the transfer will be done. Once your Login ID is set in the new system, you will not be able to change it! Also note that custom avatars will have to be moved over manually, so make sure you have a copy to upload into the new system. The switch will take place next weekend, May 8-9.
