I think with most TV shows I have watched and followed very closely he is one of the few males that hasn't annoyed me at one point. __________________ Avi by *Nora* JVDB - celebrating 40k | |||

| Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nic, couldn't have said better ![]() That's why I never got the hate. Karen, I feel the same. Liz, I think those seasons are my fave too. Dawson had great moments in those seasons. About the finale, I didn't like how things ended for him. Not at all. After all the hints of his unhappiness and loneliness, he simply meets Spielberg and all those doubts vanishes? He was feeling alone, disconnected with the reality of his life, living again in his TV show. He always believed in love and yet ended up totally alone. __________________ Won't you take me where the streetlights glow? Visit John & Vote MAD MEN icon by alex-c-potter | |||

| ^Word. I'm pleased Dawson seemed to be getting his dream but I would have thought part of that would be surrounded by people he loved? Seeing Joey with Pacey never sat right with me and it's not cause I don't like that pairing. I just thought that they were rubbing it in his face when they called him. __________________ The Lonely God Christopher Eccleston is love ![]() | |||

| I adored Dawson and still do.The eternal optimist in him,his ability to see the best in people and the fact that he is a hopeless romantic made him irressistable to me. ![]() He wasnt perfect,he sure was flawed but that made him more real and likeable. I'd want a man like him,who can make a woman feel like she's the the only one in the universe that matters to him.And that piercing gaze of his, those looks of complete adoration just made my heart go flip-flop. ![]() I hated the finale cuz it dint do justice to Dawson's character. He was the dreamer, the romantic and he ends up alone.Go figure!! He was always afriad of ending up like Mr.Brooks but in a way thats what he became.![]() And to be honest he was the only one who matured and grew up. Pacey was still banging married women,Joey still couldnt make up her mind and was still running. He was the only one who knew all along what he wanted. And yet happiness was denied to him by the irredeemably screwed up writers and the worst part of it all,Speilberg was his consolation prize!!![]() __________________ ღ To think I might not see those eyes, Makes it so hard not to cry And as we say our long goodbye, I nearly do ღ Avie: CreekBee | |||

| Great points guys! I always love reading the posts in here, everyone has something really meaningful to say about our favorite character and I can never really disagree. ![]() But, you know what's weird? I honestly never thought of his career and meeting Speilburg at the end of the show as being a consolation prize until I came to the forums. I never even noticed it, maybe it's because I was too up upset by DJo not ending up together that I didn't really pay attention to the rest of it. Of course I was a teenager at the time and didn't really look into shows as deeply as I do now. Not sure what changed, but there you have it. Now I see that it was and that he would never be happy just working, it isn't who Dawson Leery is. He was too romantic to be alone and be married to his career. If anyone could balance both it would be Dawson. The writers seemed to forget who he was by the end which was really sad to watch as a fan. He even got written out more and more as time went on, when the show shifted from him to Joey, I didn't like it as much. But oh well, it seems to happen on every show I've watched.__________________ your lips held avie by miz_thang88 | |||

| Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome Pure.Magic ![]() Exactly Nic, I can't for the life of me understand how the writers even considered the possibility of meeting Spielberg enough to make Dawson happy. Of course he was passionate about his career, but Dawson was so much more than that. We're talking about the guy who dropped college to be with the girl he loved. The hopeless romantic and optimistic who has always believed in love. And we had to hear Andie would be Pacey's consolation prize. Seriously? ![]() __________________ Won't you take me where the streetlights glow? Visit John & Vote MAD MEN icon by alex-c-potter | |||

| hey everybody! Thanks! Im Veronica. Dawson was passionate about movies and that was part of his charm. He will always be a romantic dreamer first and then a film geek. He even gave Joey all the credit for his dream of making movies coming true.He took huge risks to be with Joey.As someone mentioned,he dropped out of college, when he wasnt even 'with' her. And to have him end up alone,in some lonely office, raving about a meeting with Speilberg was just unforgivable!! and I hated how the show became about Joey in the last two seasons,as well. She wasnt worth all that fuss. You see,Im more of a Dawson fan than a DJo fan. __________________ ღ To think I might not see those eyes, Makes it so hard not to cry And as we say our long goodbye, I nearly do ღ Avie: CreekBee | |||

| I adore D/Jo and is one of my true OTP's but I agree that the later seasons became too much about Joey. She became the 'IT' girl sadly.I'll always prefer the magic of the earlier seasons ![]() __________________ The Lonely God Christopher Eccleston is love ![]() | |||

| Joey became this fickle-minded,indecisive,annoying girl in the last couple of seasons and that really made me dislike her.She was shown as some goddess,no man could dare not fall for!! And the way the whole series started to look like her story and her journey was so infuriating. __________________ ღ To think I might not see those eyes, Makes it so hard not to cry And as we say our long goodbye, I nearly do ღ Avie: CreekBee | |||

| ^ We all have frustrations with Joey, but I'd rather not read them here. Let's celebrate the awesomeness of our golden creek god! ![]() So what's everyone's favorite Dawson scene from every season? Feel free to answer in essay form. ![]() __________________ your lips held avie by miz_thang88 | |||

| Favourite Dawson scene from every season would take me forever to write and think of. He has so many gorgeous moments in every season. ![]() So i was thinking, and this one is definately up there among the top ones. Its from season 4. Gail finds out that she is pregnant and seeing how Dawson wasnt exactly too happy with the news and keeping in mind all the other cons, she decides that she doesnt want to have the baby. I love Dawson in this episode. He shows a lot of maturity and understanding. I almost cried, i was so proud of the man he'd become! ![]() He tried to understand Gail's perspective and went to talk to Gretechen about it. Of course he sulked a little but then he realised that it must be harder on his mum. Gail didnt think she had in her to do it all over again, seeing how she messed up and almost destroyed her family but He erased Gail's doubts about her being a good mother and he made her see how much she'd contributed to who he is and how he thought that she was so much better and stronger than she gave herself credit for! ![]() Quote:
