Bravo, Nic! Beautifully said, and I totally agree.

I think a lot of people liked to see Dawson as weak, but in reality after Mitch died he was SO strong. It hit him hard, but he still managed to come out on the other side with hope and was still the eternal dreamer. I so loved that about him, and he was not given enough credit for that.

So true Maddie, I really think that the characteristics a lot of people find weak are actually the strong ones. I mean, it's easy to be cynical and snarky when dealing with pain, but to be honestly and brutally emotional while it's going on then to finally come to a sense of peace about it is the hardest thing. Letting go is the hardest part and finding a peace in the acceptance of loss is difficult so I was really proud of Dawson's eventual ability to find serenity in what happened instead of holding onto it for years on end. It made me love the guy anymore, he's so deep and his way of dealing is very much like my own which is why I relate to him so much.

Dawson is such a wonderful character and in the end, I'm glad he seemed to be happy. Even if it's not what I expected or hoped for?

so the other night i was out to dinner and there was a family sitting a table across from ours. i just happened to be listening to them as they were ordering their dinner and then the mom says "dawson, its your turn to order" my sister started laughing at me cuz i immediately perked up my head and looked over and this dawson was about four years old with blonde hair and blue eyes adorable!

^^ Aww, I know a Dawson. He's about 11 or 12, so I think his parents must've had him right when the show was coming out...could just be a coincidence, though. I really like the name, actually. It's different.

Oh, and I was told that I had like a great great uncle Pacey. Not that that matters to this thread. Or me. It's just not a name you hear very often...or ever.

I didn't really like the way things ended for Dawson in S6. Yes he had his filmmaking but it seemed like such a lonely life. And then there was that hideous couch scene with PJ. I have no words for that.
I just feel that as time went on,Dawson got ignored for the sake of a certain other relationship/character. And that should never have happened. Dawson is the central character and by far the most interesting.

I always thought Dawson was a more layered and interesting character because he was so different then his peers in many aspects. He was also very unique and original as far as male tv characters go. He was prone to emotional outbursts but wasn't afraid to apologize for them at the end of the day. He was far from perfect and the ideal, he was just...Dawson. All the dreamer like aspects and sensibilities that came along with that. He's still one my favorite male characters on tv to this day. He had charm, wit, compassion, and sincerity, what more could a girl want? I also love that he never really could turn into the bad boy, though it seems a lot of people like to make him the bad guy yet value the flaws of those types of characters more highly. I will never get that, but I digress. This is a thread to celebrate what makes our boy great and those are a scant few of my reasons for preferring him over the other guys on the show.

I loved Dawson in every season but seasons 2,4 and 5 have to be my favourites I think. I love how he matures in Season 4 and 5. And Season 2 is a fav cause he was still quite a naive dreamer back then and I loved it.
