For some reason i thought we'd get blues and yellows with the graphic that was picked but i am sooooooo pleased with this colour scheme.

Yeah, I think he did. Regardless of the ridiculous ending, he did at least appear to be happy in that last minute or so.

I don't think James would've played him any different in that last scene. I think he wanted Dawson to be happy, so he did his best to make us believe that he was. So I'm going to try and believe it...
