She knew but not how much. With how she reacted in Episode 3, she was shocked to realize how much he loved Liz and how much Liz feels for him. She even told Noah that she felt responsible for her brothers sadness.
And I believe Michael and Isobel grew close after she sent Liz away because of them keeping it from Max. __________________

Yeah,that's probably true. They need to show how she met Noah,because I have zero interest in that couple. I think he's like Isabel's husband in S3.
