When will what end? If you're asking about Modest, it depends. If they did like 1D, they signed a contract with them for 5 years in a deal with SYCO so up to 2016 and since they're still with Modest, they re-signed. No clue for how long, could be another 5 years.

I did notice that a lot of the bs has loosened up in more recent years and promotion has gotten better (hence why they're more well known in other countries now as well) but still...

So no clear answer on that, sorry. I haven't seen a good timeline of any of it.

Modest Management is in charge of their public image, so everything from album/single promo to their twitter accounts, from publicity stunts to damage control, from interviews to media training... That's their job. Modest Management is just well known for being horrible at it. They mess up, they're basically every ugly word you can think of...

Everyone was so excited when the girls left SYCO in October but Modest is part of the problem, and if they don't leave that company, short term there isn't a lot to be done. Don't get me wrong, quitting SYCO was a brilliant first move and basically leaves Simon Cowell with a couple of minor acts but it's not enough.
