I'll leave it to Greta Thunberg.

Sarah's not so keen on this film. I think a lot of people agree, but I like it. It was much more intense than Raiders.

I agree with you, sum1. I liked this film. I still loved Raiders most of all, but I thought Temple of Doom was underrated. I loved the opening musical number and the shootout at Club Obi Wan, and the temple of doom booby traps were even more frightening than the ones at the beginning of Raiders.

And Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom came out in 1984. OMG, that was the best year ever. The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court, Miami Vice, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, Amadeus, The Terminator, The Karate Kid, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Beverly Hills Cop, The Natural, Splash, Romancing The Stone, Starman, Purple Rain, Sixteen Candles, Tightrope, A Soldier's Story, and Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom.

It was certainly a significant year.

Yes it was. Every once in a while you get a year like that. It was also cool for music too.

I didn't pay attention to the music.

Really? Oh. Well, I paid attention mostly because of movie soundtracks.

John Williams' music was the soundtrack of the 80s for me. Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., The Witches of Eastwick, The Accidental Tourist, etc. And even though these films came out in the 1970s, I watched Jaws, Superman, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Poseidon Adventure, and The Towering Inferno so many times during the 80s I still feel like it's 80s stuff.

Thanks, Rita! I just realized that The Avengers ripped off Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, because all it took was one good hit from Black Widow to knock Hawkeye free of his brainwashing.

I don't know if that's ripping it off. My guess is that Indiana Jones was not thought of while that that Avengers movie it is I guess happened. I haven't seen the film where Black Widow did that though.

R.I.P. Sean Connery. "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade" is 1 of my favorite movies that Connery was in.

It was in the first Avengers movie, when Hawkeye was brainwashed by Loki and he and Black Widow were fighting on the helicarrier.

We also have a thread for that as well, Matt.
