Yeah, I was scratching my head when I first saw Temple of Doom in the cinema in 1984 and I saw that it began in 1935, because I remembered that Raiders began in 1936.

I just was curious as to why they chose to do that. It's not like there was a narrative necessity to that. I always wondered what happened to Marion between Raiders(1936) and Last Crusade(1938).__________________

In their timeline? Last Crusade is just two years after Raiders... although the films came out eight years apart.
