Yeah, it's what we called Tech Noir in the 80s, after that nightclub in The Terminator.

I like the look of it but that kind of atmosphere gives me the vibe that the air is always polluted Must be because of the steam in the streets.

I actually got the impression that it always rained every day in Los Angeles 2019, which as we all know isn't true. And I just think that Ridley Scott likes that particular aesthetic. Also, a lot of people in the early 80s did think that pollution would make things that dark, which again, didn't really happen.

But I don't think that Scott made L.A. look like that for that reason, I think he was trying more for a 1940s film noir look, combined with a 21st century futuristic look. John Carpenter used a similar look for Escape From New York, and James Cameron also used a similar look for The Terminator.

With the steaming and constant raining its hard to focus on much else as far as the weather goes...

Yeah, but this is L.A. I don't think it ever rains nearly as much as it did in Blade Runner. They did get a lot of rain this past year, which solved their previous drought problems. I think they got a little too much.

How long more are we going to be discussing the climate in Blade Runner?

I think most of it was actually filmed in WB studios and back lots.

The sequel was crap. Who needs a Blade Runner film all about a goose?

I didn't watch the sequel, so... are you referring to Mr. Gosling?
