Well, a hundred years ago, the world went through World War I and the The Spanish Influenza Pandemic(1914-1920), the Stock Market crash and The Great Depression(1929-1939), and World War II(1939-1945), all happening within ten years of each other. That would be considered apocalyptic. I think we'll get through this.

China is finally announcing no new cases of coronavirus, so this can be beaten. I just wish they'd let everyone know what the hell was going on earlier.

it can be beaten but only with the strict measures China introduced.

Global? No. China can carry on, and so can South Korea because they did the right thing early. Most of the rest, probably not. We will have new world powers.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Rita. China got through this earlier because it hit them first, and then they took extreme measures. The USA and Europe will catch up and beat this thing, but it'll take a few months, just like China. South Korea had a bit more advanced warning because they were right next door. And no one knows what the hell is going on in North Korea. Russia has had surprisingly few cases as well.

It could take a year. And Russia will probably catch up with the other countries in number of cases. And there's no reason to believe official Russian accounts of how many cases there are there. That government couldn't tell the truth if it was paid to.

Well, the point is, let's not look too far ahead right now. Let's just beat this thing and then figure out things from there. I'm hoping that we can start seeing cases go down by the end of Summer or sooner.
