Not that I can remember. You might be thinking of the Avatars storyline? I think that was season 6. That made them not needed & weakened them, but they came back when the Avatars were defeated. Paige finished things off as embracing her whitelighter side so they were around still for the end of the show

Yeah it was odd they got rid of the whitelighters in this show.

Since they figured out how to make Harry one again & they have Celeste who knows how to do it I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to bring them back now tbh
