I have my work Christmas parties tomorrow I don't like them or want to go but have to at least go to the one with the families/children in the morning. We'll see how long I end up staying for the one with my coworkers in the afternoon

Wasn't as bad as I thought & ended up staying for most of it

I have a headache from the loudness of people & music all in a small space though & the cicadas outside aren't helping it. I'm trying music to drown them out but its not helping as I can't have it too loud without it hurting my head too

They're a constant noise & can get quite loud . I don't know if they're worse/louder than crickets but I'd say so, yes

I upset one of the children at work today. He spotted a dead cicada in the leaves I was sweeping up & I just swept it up & added it into the bin with the leaves. He was just standing there getting upset pointing to the bin going "oh no, cicada" then "cicada" (well more cada than the full word) as he wanted me to get it back out. I had to distract him by taking him for a walk to go find another one & thankfully there was a living one on a tree which was just out of his reach that he could look at & be happy about . Unfortunately impossible to explain to a 2 year old why they can't play with a dead bug or why its better off in the bin than with him

I have one more day left of work before just over two weeks off Also one more day of working in the nursery room which is a good thing for me as its not a room I personally would pick to be in full time
