They've changed his character a little so he'll be Macy's first friend when she moves at first but probably eventually boyfriend

Originally I think he was an ex-boyfriend? I presume he was ex as he followed her across the country when she left so presumably they'd broken up or she'd just up & left him. But they've changed it so he's just someone she meets/works with

I looked it up & this was the original character description (& had the details wrong so glad I did look it up ):

Then what the character is now is what I put in the OP which I got from the CW website so sounds like they changed him completely but not sure why

That's what I was thinking or maybe there isn't as much chemistry as they thought or it felt more believable this way?
