Do you mean something like this? Because first off, I'm not sure how big you wanted the animation and there really isn't that much purple space. Second the blurring/fading technique works better for me when it's on a darker background (I had the most trouble with that because I only know one way of doing that on multiple frames, otherwise I'd have to do it manually on each frame and that's just too complicated.) In any case, I gave it a shot and if you want someone else to try it or want changes, by all means let me know.
