I had planned on collaborations but the plans kept falling through so I gave up for the time being

There are some pics on my hard drive that I could edit but I'm a bit distracted with my studies at the moment.

K then you are looking for Digital SLRS? What kind of lens, what brand do you have? Because I can suggest some that are compatible with your old SLR lens. Would save you lots of money

pshhh lazy lazy Fatima
Yes, I am looking for a digital SLR camera. I have a Minolta Vectis S1 (APS System) with a 28-56 mm zoom lens. (Minolta V-Lens)

Okay, I will work on the laziness.

Yamiko, thank you for starting the new thread! Iif you really are intending to change the title, some ideas from my fav quotes

"A good photograph is knowing where to stand"

“A photograph is a portrait painted by the sun”

"Photography to me is catching a moment which is passing, and which is true.”

Fatima, if you wanted to use your Minolta lens, then I would suggest a Sony DSLR camera. When Konica Minolta withdrew from the camera business a few years ago, they transferred all their assets to Sony. They are the ones who design camera mounts that fit old Minolta lenses Luckily, in my opinion, the Sony alpha 200 is the most bang for its buck on the market right now in regards to beginner DSLR cameras. I just bought one 4 months ago as an introduction to DSLR's and I find it easy to use yet it produces some amazing results. It is lightweight, looks great and takes great photos.

Few reasons I think this camera will suit you, with regards to what you've told me:
  • It can use your old Minolta Lenses. This certainly narrows down your possibilities if you wish to use these old lenses
  • It's got 10.2 Mega Px, which will allows you to blow up your images to atleast poster size, so will definitely do for your situation.
  • It has Super Steady shot image stabilization that you can turn on and off, good for taking shots of people and pets that tend to move around and mess up the picture, you said you liked to take people pictures.
  • The actual camera body has autofocus instead of just the lens, so you don't have to spend extra money when buying lenses to find one that autofocuses. Or you don't have to worry that some of your old film lenses don't have autofocus.
  • It's got a huge LCD screen. I know I take time to review and zoom into the image, especially of people, to make sure they aren't blinking of anything.
  • Battery Last forever.
  • Has a black and white feature
  • Comes with a 17-70mm lens, which is better when compared to its competitor with similar features; Nikon D40 and Canon rebel. Those only come with 18-55mm lens. This lens has an amazing wide angle view and zooms in far. Helps with the laziness

Of course, I am speaking all on experience. I have this particular sony, so I know the features back and front. But if you are wanting to use your minolta lenses, you have no choice but to stick with Sony and the A200 is the one for people transitioning to DSLR's, its the lightest and most straightforward to use. If you don't plan on using your minolta lenses, then the options expand. The popular brands in this class are the Rebel Xti and the Nikon D40 classes. They are very good cameras as well

For exact details on the Sony Alpha 200 check out this site: Sony Alpha 200 Review. Or if you have any questions about the camera, lemme know

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask me more!

Jessie: Those are so pretty! I especially love the fishes (#4)! His colors are gorgeous! What is that in the picture #5? I like the spots.

Kris: Well, when you get the time, edit them and put 'em on here.

Kate, thanks a lot

Rella, I wish I hadn't cut that image off on the turtles leg In # 11, the green ribbon eel is actually saying "get out of my face I am trying to sleep"

Tina, that is Cyphoma gibbosum (flamingo tongue snail)

Jessie, love those pics! They make me even more excited that I am going to take scuba diving lessons this summer!

I haven't posted here in ages... Let's see. This is not the best picture in the world, quality wise, but the cuteness makes up for it, I think
