ONE's art: One digital face at the time
Welcome to my thread! (If this was real life I would throw confetti all over the place... but I'mma keep it clean now!) My name is Caroline - One. I've been doing digital art in Illustrator since late 2009. Besides being a freelance illustrator, I'm also a photographer, web designer and music journalist. Since a couple of days ago I can also say that I'm an art director for a crew of super cool creatives. I've done a bunch of Heather Morris artwork in the past (one being made as the opening title for one of her web series). I'm currently obsessing over JLaw, so there's probably a lot of that coming in the future, along with a bunch of other portraits! Cheers! (: (^Nope, that ain't a cool celeb, that's me!) Gorgeous! It's really nice to finally have somewhat of a different "media" here; you are really talented.
Your Jennifer Law. artwork from your tumblr page is absolutely gorgeous! |

Thank you, that really means a lot!
I'm actually not that happy with how the face (just the nose and lips) turned out, but the rest I actually think looks good! (: I'll start by posting the two JLaw ones I've made! I actually have another one of her in progress right now... |

Aw, I think it's gorgeous. I love the pink! Your 2nd one is awesome too - orange. How do you decide which artwork gets what color? For instance, your 1st J. Law one is pink; why did you decide that one? Just curious.

Thank you again, both of you!
Lately, 7 out of 10 of all the things I do is that exact pink color, and then for shading I just change the opacity (or the thickness of the strokes or a change of flow for the strokes). Which is funny, because pink is far from a favorite color of mine. It is however a really nice color to work with. I think it stands out more than green, for instant. I love working with pink, purple red and blue and I usually work with lighter backgrounds, so I guess I just want as much focus as possible on the actual portrait! I used to work more detailed... but then I got lazy. I'mma spam two more! Pitch Perfect/Kendrick, Camp and Snow (and the IKEA monkey, so random... lol!). Another pink one (because, yeah, 7 out of 10!) and the bottom one is the one I mixed into my OP banner! I happen to enjoy skipping facial features since that sometimes can ruin it... *cough* pink jlaw *cough* |

That's really awesome. Thanks for explaining how you "work." I can see how the pink is more workable; lovely color. Have you ever worked in yellow?

Well, I don't usually share that much of how I work, but I kinda like it! haha.
And I have worked with yellow! Only twice for outlines though, and that was pretty much only because I made a series of portraits of some of the female cast of Glee and used different (well, I tried! There are more colors out there than the eye can see, but dang was it hard to figure out twenty colors to use!) colors for all of them. I personally think that yellow is really difficult to work with if you want a lighter background, since it's also such a "light" color, I'm not gonna say that it almost turns invisible, but it does get a lot more difficult to see. I did use a pretty dark yellow for Jane Lynch. And Becca Tobin is almost a little green... And here's yellow as background, which I think can be nice for black outlines! (: |

Really beautiful work! Its really different, and I like that some of your arts look like the illustrations you see in children's books (I'm a teacher ) Really beautiful!

Ohh, are there children's books with Jennifer Lawrence in body suits?! School must have changed since the good ol' days...
Kidding! I'm not that old, pfft. Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them! (: |

Thanks y'all! (:
Here's the new Jennifer one (pink, huh... and some kind of yellow just because we were talking about yellow here!). Just couldn't help myself when I saw the new promo shots for Catching Fire! |
