Is there a thread where you can "promote" Challenges held at livejournal and such? Because I just found the most interesting icon challenge on LJ and would love to share it with everyone (plus, it deserves more entries

OK so I was wondering, this may be a silly question but I tried the board guide and I'm still confussed. I really want to start learning to do fan art because it's a really cool thing to be able to do but I was wondering are there certain programs I should be downloading to help me?

Welcome!

To download programs, GIMP is free, but PS and PSP cost money eventually. With those programs, you could possibly get a free trial from them (google them).

I downloaded gimp but so far I'm finding the whole thing very confusing. I watched a tutorial so I understand layers but I want to make a simple banner or something with an image to start off with and I don't have the first clue how...

Maybe we could just extend the thread we already have about all the contests on

to simply all contests, not just on LJ, but Blend Challenge sites as well? I'm not sure how popular a single thread would be, but if we combine that, it might be alright?

Before making the OP-art for the Horror thread I wanted to check out the thread and get some ideas... but the link (in the OP) leads me to a closed thread.. and I can't find any other horror thread. I don't think this thread actually exists
