In 2015, Somi participated in Sixteen where she competed against other JYP trainees to earn a spot in the group that would become Twice. The following year she competed on the first season of Produce 101. She came in first place and went on to debut in the group I.O.I. After more appearances on entertainment programs such as Sister's Slam Dunk 2 and Idol Drama Operation Team, she left JYPE. She then signed with The Black Label under YG. On June 13th, 2019 Somi made her official solo debut with "Birthday"

It's probably more so that the choreography kept on changing for Birthday that she wasn't so confident. She seemed better for Outta My Head.

I actually like that it's not too repetitive, but that does make it harder to like instantly.

The sudden drop is jarring initially But then is followed by that insanely catchy oops you're not invited line

She did much better on Inkigayo
