fromis_9 (프로미스나인; initialism from from idol school) is a nine-member girl group formed by CJ E&M Music through the 2017 Mnet reality show Idol School. They released the pre-debut single "Glass Shoes" on November 29, 2017 and officially debuted on January 24, 2018 with the mini album To. Heart.

Their group name is fromis_9, which means from (I)dol (s)chool, pronounced as "promise nine" as it is a promise to their viewers to be the best girl group.
