Theory time!
The Duffers (show creators) mentioned they had a "teenage posession/body horror" storyline that got bumped from S2 because they weren't able to fit it in.

Now look at the color scheme of the poster, Billy all alone separate from everyone surrounded by cold colors while everyone else is warm red.

Now let's take a look at the season 3 trailer of Stranger Things, between the time mark: 1:54-1:56. You can clearly see Billy in the shower and there is a big black wound-like thing on his arm.

Therefore, prediction: Billie will temporarily stumble into the upside down somehow and while he is there some sort of parasite will go into him, (like how Will was coughing up snails) and it will start messing with his head and make him do bad things.

having an abusive parent is still no excuse for anyone to become abusive themselves. got a little experience at that myself

I guess I'm just less judgmental than that, it's fine. Moralizing over fictionary characters is the ultimate waste of time.
