Well if you go read fan reactions to season 2, the general consensus among viewers is that they love seeing the kids be kids and bond with each other. So the writers knew they had to include scenes like that to please their audience. I think it's fine, it makes us more attached to the characters too so the stakes feel higher when they are in peril.

Didn't make me feel more attached, tbh, I found it pretty boring. If they're gonna base it on what they're seeing in fanfics, we all have a problem.

Fan reactions are not the same as fan fictions.
And literally ALL netflix shows take fan feedback into account. That is their thing. |

i dont think it was like a teen drama at all. El and Mike was really the only teen drama portion imo, and that has been building for two seasons. Most shows have some romance mixed in. There was enough other stuff going on, like Dustin hearing the stuff over the radio, Will feeling something off etc. I think it was a great balance.
The action started in episode 1, not sure what show you were watching lol |

Honestly, it was good balance.. I mean, I don't want to see all action plus they were trying to give El a normal life after everything she went through and that's what I like and same w/ Will..

On a show like this we don't need more than glimpses of that, especially because El can't have a normal life, her abilities make that impossible.

well, now that she doesn't have any she might. although there's a lot of grief to deal with and now they're away from their friends but for the time being it could be possible

I can't see that lasting at all, tbh, and besides, she's well past being able to have a normal life anyway now.
