the interesting thing is, like i said before: i talk to a lot of exchange students (American ones), and any one of them could have easily been amanda knox

on the other hand, her reality seemed removed, not because of her 'permissiveness', but just by looking at shots of her house, or how she went to an exotic location like italy for exchange in the first place

it is, but the reality amanda knox faces made me question the story as a whole.

she managed to garner media attention due to the fact 'beautiful people' were involved in the story. Even her fellow assailant Rafaelle Sollecito looked like a gucci handbag model

i think she probably did it, but the circumstances leading to the act, or the act of killing itself will remain subjective. and chances are shes probably a cold blooded sociopath who can 'turn it on' on command.

Something about the ending did stick with me, how people "look for bad guys" to "quantify their fear", to "know" who the bad guy is, and its "not them". because "fear makes us afraid". and "fear makes people crazy"

I'm undecided. The courts did say that they didn't prove she did it, though, and essentially that the investigation was poor.

as a pseudo intellectual , her whole story wreaks of social darwinism

social darwinism is applying the concepts charles darwin: evolution of the species-> survival of the fittest to how humans and society function fundamentally

just to reiterate: amanda knox's story was one of social status and how there was a lot of 'beautiful' people involved in the story. and the media was drawn into the story because of the presence of 'beautiful' people. there is an unwritten rule: life is "easier" when you are a beautiful person

As an observer, this case comes across as 'the strong killing the strong', in a world removed from the average. With darwinism it argues the human race, when advanced forms of humans are concerned, demonstrate how advanced the humans race is when compared to animals, yet humans are still fallible to acts of violence and are still mortal.

My take? let them all kill each other! Enough people kill each other over the most petty of things, why not let the most advanced in the species carry out the most basic of acts. Just to let us know we are all the same

A couple trying to conceive before its too late, simple story, really

has a bit of that quirkiness and nice cinematography seen in meyerowitz stories (courtesy of the arts graduate student character), but thankfully thats been watered down, because the film is ultimately about the couple. without becoming overly cheesy and sentimental

in the end, this is arguably one of the better films on netflix, unlike their series, they havent really landed a hit film as yet. but this more than satisfies those who seek indie and arthouse type works
