Yeah when the dad said that I was waiting for Will to say something smart ass back to him about how he didn't really do all that much raising. I like the dad. He really does love his family and from what I saw does seem like a good guy overall but yeah can't ignore the fact he was gone a lot.

I think work took him away and he used it as an excuse to not be there, so now stepping in and being dad, he's getting push back, especially from Judy.

I believe Dr. Smith did all of it so that the robot would come, but I think she was looking for a different response. I believe she wanted it to act evil and scare them. Since we’re assuming they’re the creatures that attacked the Resolute.

^^^ I agree. She saw how Will was able to control it, and believes through her investigative and creepy stalkerish behaviour that the answer lies in the fact that Will rescued him so the robot rescued Will in return and continued to protect him.

So by her putting it back together again, (Yes that's a Humpty Dumpty Reference. ), She felt she would now control it.

But there is something missing IMO.
