I don't like when they wait multiple episodes before explaining to us why

The show has stunning views. I also loved the shot when they focused on Judy's and the dad's hands when the water was freezing.

I even like the boy so far and I usually don't like kids on TV shows

I think the dad is my least favorite character so far, I'm already siding with the girl

Yeah, I don't like him either, he seems a bit arrogant and selfish. And now he left the son alone, second time this happened in this episode.

I don't mind the kids being smart but that kind of medical knowledge? I need an explanation.

I believe only a select amount of people were given permission to colonize, and they all had to have some kind of STEM or other highly specialized skill. They also had to pass tests to see if they were psychologically fit for whatever challenges or complications would arise in the process of colonizing a new planet.
