Exactly and sometimes villains are given a sad backstory just to justify their behaviour and even though it helps explain why they turned to evil, it doesn't always justify what they did or do.

Netflix tends to release their actual dates really late, like a month or two before the premiere, so I imagine we'll be waiting a while.

I thought so, but I can't seem to find any info on it atm. I only find articles about how they'd do a season 2, not actually about if they have one.

It better be renewed, they got me invested now.

It took me so long to get into it by all the info dumps they did, so they owe it to me to continue the story.

It gets better, the first two episodes were a bit boring because it contained too much information. But they had to introdcue the world to us.

I think it's just the pace of the first episodes, it was a bit slow, it got more interesting later on, after they set up the world and mythology.
