Thanks! The secrecy about the casting of John is so weird. I wonder if they really haven't cast anybody yet or if the guy is popular, they want to reveal it as a surprise.

The woman in the video mentioned that there are rumors about Cole Sprouse playing him. I hope that's not true.

Yeah, it was really weird how they just decided to recast John and not even tell the original actor, it seems. Ouch.

Yeah, it’s not the right way to go about it ... even if they felt like the best decision was to recast.

Lana and Noah posted on-set IG stories of them in character ... looks like filming is starting a bit earlier.

Sarah, Steph, I love that we're in agreement about Cole.

I hope the change of the director is not going to influence the movie. I really loved what Susan Johnson did, sad she isn't part anymore, at least not as a director.

I like Cole but I dont see him as John. I feel like John has a really subtle sweetness to him.

I really cant wait though, I hope they dont dismiss the character. I loved John and Lara Jean personally.

In fact, book!Peter is kind of mean/douchey sometimes

in comparison though I still prefer Covinsky (based on the movie).

I'm really sad/surprised too

, Susan was also a major part of what made this movie unique/great. I love how she shot the movie and it was really subtle, not in-your-face and beautifully done. Sucks that it clashes with her other projects right now (couldn't they try to reschedule the timing though?) and I hope that the movie won't suffer as a result of it. However, glad to hear that she's an EP for the movie.

And the new director was the director of photography on the first movie, so hopefully it'll have a similar feel.
