Sierra did not deserve that happy ending. On song does not solve anything. I think Veronica even had more character development.

While I understand your point of view, I feel Sierra did it because her esteem was low and didn't feel pretty. If you saw the beginning she was standing in front of the mirror, disliking herself. Towards the end, she was crying to her parents that they were beautiful and she was ugly.

Even though I could maybe reason away why Sierra did what she did, I still can't agree with it. No matter her low self esteem.
I DO feel for her.
But, that doesn't excuse it for me.
I don't know if the movie was trying to make her seem likable, or make us root for her. And that is not sarcasm, I was honestly wondering what the intent of the movie towards Sierra was.
I started out feeling for her and maybe even identifying with her, but as the movie went on, I started to dislike her more and more up to the point where at the end of the movie I felt her happy ending was not only not deserved at all, I actually just didn't want it.
I wish I would've liked this movie a lot more, the premise seemed interesting to me. Sierra's character just didn't do it for me at all.
I ended up feeling bad for the people around her, whilst at the beginning of the movie, I felt bad for her.

I just finished watching this. A bit cliche for Netflix, i must say, but I enjoyed it. I also loved the Stranger Things-type soundtrack too!

Yep. I had the same problems. I didn't like that she kissed him without his consent. I don't think exposing Veronica was rootable and I think the show was trying to make the fact that she wasn't super thin and pretty the reason she was awful and well---it's not a good reason to be awful.

A song wasn't a believable reason, to me, that Veronica forgave her and went to advocate for her with Jamey.
