Following the post game in the 9:30 p.m. ET half-hour (#1: 16.0/25) was the premiere/preview of Fox medical drama “The Resident,” which was very adequately sampled at a dominant 6.8 household rating and a 3.4 rating in adults 18-49 from 10:04-11:04 p.m. ET. “The Resident” debuts in its regularly scheduled Monday 9 p.m. ET time period (out of “Lucifer”) this evening.

I read very mixed reviews about the pilot from critics.. so I do hope the show will continue to do well and prove them wrong!

Reading critics' reviews you basically don't understand one thing about that show. So I gave up especially after watching it
And we still don't know viewers numbers. I'll keep you updated

Kicking off just a few minutes later than its estimated 10/9c start time, the freshman medical drama drew 8.8 million total viewers and a 2.7 demo rating in fast nationals, down sharply both from what CBS’ Hunted did in the plum time slot a year ago (10.8 mil/3.6 in prelims, leading out of the AFC Championship) and what Fox’s own The X-Files drew two years ago (13.5 mil/5.1, post-NFC Championship).

yeah me too! they did release the pilot before its original airing so maybe that's a factor?
