I really don't think Shaunette is leaving, or that The Resident will have her leave. Mina got herself into quite a complicated immigration issue, so this isn't going to be an easy resolution for her. I also think this will be a good challenge for her relationship with AJ. AJ agreeing to go to Nigeria with her would be a good arc to test their relationship. This will also give us more insight into Mina's life in Nigeria, and her relationship with her mom.
I'm just super excited to learn more about Mina. __________________

They tried to keep her but sadly she wanted out they knew it before the season started so they gave her a great storyline and a wonderful send off you don’t see that often when a character want to leave a show.

^ yeah, 100% They also still left her story open ended, so her character could easily return in later seasons as a recurring/guest.
I'm still in denial, but happy they did right by Mina. __________________
