Not entirely. They killed Ben and put Karen in his place. I feel that may have been to give more reason to keep Karen alive. But who knows for sure.

I definitely think that, too. And surely once Fisk finds out Karen killed Wesley, he'll be going after her and indirectly after DD and Frank at the same time. That of which neither will be okay with. And Frank did tell Fisk that the next time they meet, only one will walk away alive.
