It was hard for me to ship them when he was so into Karolina because I didn't want Gert to get hurt. And since I hadn't read the comics I didn't know that Gert and Chase were cannon.

That's why it was infuriating seeing all the C/K development and there were barely none with these two. So I'm really hoping S2 changes that since technically they like each other but they have yet to talk.

I want Chase pining and showing Gert how much he likes her.

Her speech at the dance was powerful. But it was her. Yes, the "I always saw you" makes me swoon. But he needs to show her that and make a big gesture.

I agree Jackie. Chase needs to show Gert because right now, Gert isn't sure. She feels like the sex thing was a spontaneous one, an in the moment kinda thing.

I did feel like Chase didn't realize her feelings for Gert until much later on after the whole Karolina thing didn't work out but maybe he did have feelings for Gert but was too scared to realize/admit it?

Oh, I definitely think and felt he had feelings for her since the get-go. But he was scared. This is an abused boy. And Gert is larger-than-life. And smart. And "knows" what she wants (from his pov). And calls him dumb. And acts like she doesn't like him (defense mechanism). And becuase of his past, he believes it. And Karolina "seems" the better choice to him. Safer.

Yeah Jackie that would make a lot of sense. I thought he was ignoring his feelings for Gert because he knows that their relationship will lead to something real and he wasn't ready for real at that point in his life so he went for superficial instead with Karolina.
