they were really almost like sisters in the comics, so i'm happy they're actually sisters here.

YES! That was a good fit. If you wanted to avoid another set of parents and more of a dynamic. I think Gert/Molly/Yorkes was the right next for everyone.

although i miss the ~~hayes~~ hernandezes in the show, it really would have been sooo bloated with them as regular cast members as well. this went a long way in slimming the cast down a bit AND strengthening the sister bond between gert and molly.

it was. i would not have expected it. i didn't like it at first, but now i think it works.

Yeah, at first it's like...they're just "saved" money by cutting two characters.

But as you watch, you see how important their dynamic is and their bond. I'm glad that if they had to remove a set, they incorporated it in such an amazing way.
