You probably could but certain plot points might not make sense for the simple fact that Claudia, Paco and Ron are not in the book at all. So it might confuse you?

In interviews I remember Penn saying the second season will diverge from the book even more than the first one. How so, how much we will see. That sounds good though. Can't wait to read it.
