Summary
The series follows the DiMeo family, and their own unique personality: Maya, a take-charge mother with an no-holds-barred attitude, Jimmy, a husband who doesn't care what others think, Dylan, their no-nonsense athletic daughter, Ray, their middle child who's the "brains" in the family, and their oldest son, J.J.—a high schooler with cerebral palsy who has a biting wit and sense of humor. The DiMeos move frequently in an attempt to find a good educational environment for J.J. and believe they have found an optimal choice when they discover a school that prides itself on being inclusive and where J.J. will have an aide to speak for him. However, they quickly find that not everything is as good as it could be.

And parents who have children with special needs tell me it portrays pretty accurately their everyday crazy life and struggles.

Very rarely do I love each and every character in a show, but this one, I LOVE THEM ALL! Especially Ray and Jimmy.

And I love that Dylan and Ray are figuring out they're each pretty awesome

and JJ and Kenneth, perfect!

...I feel bad not mentioning Mya...she's awesome I love how she doesn't take crap from anybody.

They're all just so likably human. They're not perfect, they don't try to be, and they accept each other flaws and all, I love that. the latest episode was great, I love how Kenneth is becoming part of the family and it was a very realistic portrayal of family during the holidays.

Completely agree with that Gelly! Especially the likably human part.

It just works for them.

And I love how the kids bicker and what not but when it comes down to it they always put each other first.

I watched the pilot again the other day...seems they've toned down a bit...but still so loveably funny.

I love this show so much, I want the DiMeo as my second family.

And all the characters are so lovable, that doesn't usually happen. Sure one might get on your nerves in one scene and the very next scene they've won you back over. My favorites are Ray and Jimmie.
