Are we allowed to mention that-say a celebrity- is up for voting on an appreciation thread on a different board?
Thanks in advance

For the celebs, are we now allowed to have a "Vote for (insert actors name)" thread on their respective TV show boards??

Cause that would be sweet.

^ I was wondering about that too.

I'm a little confused on one thing though, for celebs that have a thread at their TV show, or thread at male/female celeb board, are we allowed to discuss voting and campaigning there? for instance, Chace Crawford at his thread at Gossip Girl?

and second question, I know were not allowed to ask for votes on other websites, but what about personal status lines at AIM, MSN, etc. I don't know about others, but I have quite a few people from FF on my MSN list, and if I changed my status to "vote for ____" it would pretty much be the same as my signature here. since I wouldn't be individually asking people for votes. just wondering.

You're not supposed to ask for votes on other boards or have a thread titled that even if the board is related... I've seen 'campaign' threads on related boards... but all lists for supporters should be taken the usual way through posters on the Requests campaign thread... that way if I get a complaint about PMs asking for votes I have one place to check to see if they are on the list.

As for the Chace Crawford thread, I would prefer if it was more of mentioning of the campaign thread rather than the voting itself. If you feel the need you can mention he's on the polls... though he's doing good on the polls this month so far...

As for some kind of status thing... I wouldn't have too much of a problem with that, just try not to encourage people to vote wouldn't post on the board, eh.

And campaign threads have been up in advance for awhile now and they generally aren't closed anymore unless they are disqualified or the board was added.

yeah, I don't mean talking about like "oh you're a Chace fan, will you go vote?" lol but it's always fun to talk about how the voting is going. say for instance if I was like "yay, so and so has this many votes today! " lol did that make any sense?

thanks Johnnie!

hmmm....I'm just wondering because of the Vote for Ellen thread on the Grey's Anatomy board. theoretically, can we do the same for Zach and have a thread on the Heroes board? I just think it would be great to have it on that board specifically, in addition to the "main" campaign thread here on the Requests board, which would be used to PM people... Or can we choose eitiher/or?

I seriously dont mean to cause trouble or anything, I'm just curious.

Looks like I got to go to a title change or something over on that board...

People PMed to vote should only be made from a list of campaigners who've posted their interest on the Requests campaign thread, otherwise if I get a spam complaint from someone not on the list the request could very well get disqualified.

Ok, say we only PM people from the list on this board. Can we still have a Zach campaign thread on the Heroes board? I mean, it may seem a bit redundant, but I mean, new Heroes fans would see the thread on the Heroes board easily, and may want to vote for Zach..

Please don't hate me for asking..

Stand by on that, I'm about to start a discussion with the rest of the management team about outside campaign threads.

Campaign threads are no longer allowed outside of the requests board, any existing one should be closed soon, however the campaign threads here can be mentioned on the appropriate thread(s) for the TV show, Musician, or Celebrity (or if applicable special request, such as a movie thread pertaining to it).

Johnnie, i'd like to open a 90210 Campaign Thread for the new 90210 to be on the CW this fall. Before I do that I wanted to get your okay because I wasn't sure how that would work with the original 90210 board we already have.

I personally feel that mixing the two would be crazy with all the new characters we're going to have, so I wanted to make sure first.

I've noticed a little confusion about this so I thought I'd ask, the rule against editing your posts, it only applies to the nominating threads. Right? We can do it, on campaign threads. Can't we? (I really hope I read that correctly! )

Yes, the edit rule only applies on the submission thread, originally I had editing off on this board completely... but it made campaigning difficult, which is why I asked for submissions not to be edited, as I'll skip them if they are.

Yeah, a thread/submission for 90210 would be allowed here, as for talking about it on the BH90210 board in the meantime... I dunno, that would be a question for someone else.
