You can make a list of possible thread ideas but people don't OWN the right to start threads... not everyone visits campaign threads and even if they did, it's not fair to say who can or can't open a thread... if someone gets to a board when it's first opened and wants to start a thread they can... they shouldn't have to wait for a designated person to start it. This has caused problems in the past which is why it's become a rule here.

ok, im so confused, lol.
let's say there is a thread dedicated to a show that does not have it's own board yet, are we allowed to mention, on the thread, that it would be a good idea to vote for that show to have it's own board?
also, if there is an appreciation thread for people on this show, can we remind people, on the thread, to vote for it?

Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff can only be requested in the Special Requests thread... unless it's a TV show... then it can be submitted to TV and later added to Sci-Fi/Fantasy like Doctor Who...

For the same reason TV is not seperated for Present, Current, and Past... it's not necessary... 3 polls is enough. And Music Artists has never had more than one category.

No, you cannot. The PM template is there to one time PM people asking them to join the campaign thread on the Requests board... from there they can be PMed and reminded to vote each month... only after they post on the campaign thread. I think the rules are pretty clear if one takes the time to read through them thoroughly.

The first paragraph and line of the first section of the rules explains why it was removed.

I've read it several times, but I'd like something to be clarified. You can only PM posters that are on lists asking for their votes, but can you PM posters that seem interested (but not on lists) to just tell them a campaign exists, while not asking for their vote. Because it only states that you aren't allowed to PM asking for votes, so it should logically be allowed then, right?

If the related thread uses lists to keep track of the fans (most do), then the people on the list ONLY should be contacted, contacting them because they "seem" interested is not allowed.
