I think the main reason the TV polls weren't doing so well awhile back had to do with the slum of the writer's strike and nothing much being on the air in the way of new episodes/shows.

There is not a winner out of every poll, a maximum of 2 boards get added, if all 3 polls get over 100 votes, then the 2 winners from the seperate polls get added... So if Kristen Stewart has 300 votes, Jonas has 240, and Dollhouse gets 150, only the first two would be added. If there was another celeb with more votes than Jonas it would be irrelevant as it didn't win the poll.

That only happened once and that situation was somewhat out of my hands, 2 is the general maximum, with the exception of Fall TV and Special Request.

No, they won't be seperate, TV has 2 categories... New, Past, and Present... and only one poll... this was done to give everyone a decent shot at getting a board, and really one poll is enough for a category... and with the part about needing an active campaign... alternates can be used... I've yet to see all 25 Alternates get filled up. I'd have to look at the last one but I think it was more than 12 hours as people were I believe submitting inactive or things for stuff that didn't have a campaign.

If something isn't posted on 7 days [1 week] from the last post up to that minute it would be inactive. Seriously it's not hard to mantain the minimum posts if you really want a board for something. The campaign should be used to gather supports, make lists... send out PM reminders to campaigners... and whatnot. It can really help.

Yeah I know, I was talking about how it used to be before... in the past we had more than 2 new boards, didn't we?

Somwhat, there is a list of when boards were added on Info Center (granted they are not all there). It's always been 2 boards a month, even when the celebs were split up which led to a lot of months of 2 celebs and nothing else. The other boards listed would be to do with Fall TV and whatnot (added independently of the Requests sytem prior to the poll for it)

There's a few odd listings back in 2004/2005ish, but yeah. For the most part, like July 2005 was two celebs and 3 fall shows. But the 2 rule was decided awhile ago, I believe from a meeting that Jerry, Leif, and I had.

It might have been, but if it was it didn't last very long. As I do remember a chat I had way back about it. I think you may have replied when I was still editing my post, as I did that a few times.

Hey, Johnnie, just out of curiosity...what happens if the top two entries in a poll end up tied? Which could have happened last month—the top two TV shows wound up just two votes apart.

I started a campaign thread today and just realized in a few days a new list will go up. Do I need to wait another month on a request thread, or can I already submit their name when the new list submissions go up? Thanks.

A lot of people make the new thread then submit immediately, it should be all right as long as it stays active.

The poll probably would have been extended.

Just a little reminder, not a complete topic on why you should vote or, you know, to tell people to vote.

The point of the Requests board is to encourage people to post on the campaign thread and keep it active which is why people are allowed to mention on occassion the campaign thread, but not to vote... by having people join the campaign thread... they can be put on a list to be PMed once a month to remind them to vote. The latter does NOT encourage people to participate in the campaign thread, which as some of you know if it doesn't stay active it doesn't stay on the polls.

The advantage to the campaign threads too is to see how steady/popular that submission is, so you can tell if it will do well on the polls or not.
