The series follows Xena and her traveling companion Gabrielle. Xena is on a quest to seek redemption for her past sins as a ruthless
warlord by using her formidable fighting skills to help people. In Hercules, during her two first episodes, Xena was an outlaw and
a powerful warlord, but in her third appearance she joins Hercules to defeat the warlord Darphus, who had taken her army. During her own
series, Xena spends almost every episode on a different mission, always trying to do the right thing, fighting for the what she refers to as
the "greater good". Xena's trademark weapon is a Chakram, and she also uses a sword. Xena also has to fight her own past; she has
never forgiven herself for her crimes, and often has to resist the temptation to return to her evil ways, but she always resists with the help
of Gabrielle. Gabrielle is Xena's best friend and also her greatest ally. She is introduced in the first episode, first as a big fan of Xena
and her history, but soon becomes a notable character in her own right. As the show progresses she undergoes significant changes in
costume and style, evolving from a simple farm girl to a talented bard, and eventually to a formidable warrior. She is initiated into a
tribe of Amazons, learns to fight with a staff, and is trained by Xena. In the first season, Xena and Gabrielle meet Joxer, a comic man who
styles himself "Joxer the Magnificent", and later "Joxer the Mighty." Joxer's goal is to fight for justice, but unfortunately with no physical know-how
of his own, he remains the show's main comic relief. Eventually, he becomes a close friend to Xena and Gabrielle.

Not gonna lie, my friend has told me so much about it. But I haven't seem it all. I have the first season. And I've seem (not all of) the second season. I've seen eps here and there.

My friend is a video maker goddess. So most of my love comes from watching her vids.

AX is so amazing. I love them so much.

Oh that's alright.

I just actually got into the show myself a few months ago. I'm pretty much done watching all the episodes. I just have to watch 1 more ep and I'm finished. But I'm holding that off because I read about what happens and to tell you the truth I partly don't wanna see it because it's gonna be too sad.

What's your friends youtube? I might would like to watch some of their vids.

And I know right?! Ares/Xena are amazing!

I completely adore them.

And I agree. I don't think there should be a Xena movie. I mean for me it wouldn't be the same. I'm so used to Ares popping in and out every now and then. And I can only see Kevin playing the role of Ares so..

I don't like Xena/Gabrielle as a romantic couple. I like them better as friends.

I think Xena's the gayest show I've ever watched. That wasn't even subtext anymore and I enjoyed it more than canon couples I ship. I just bought myself ultimate dvd collection and I'll have a rewatch of my fav episodes soon.

Btw I multishipped in Xena and I liked Ares/Xena, but I'm happy they never dated any guys and that it was all about their friendship. I pretty much shipped Gabrielle with every girl that passed her way.

I'm a big Xena/Ares, Gabrielle/Joxer fan.

But my favorite part is the fact that the show does revolve around Xena and Gabrielle. And, despite the fandom wars I've heard about, watching the show, everyone can be happy.

I mean, granted, like with the show Merlin, I'm totally on the Arthur/Merlin (though Arthur/Morgana is OTP). Xena is just a better quality written show. But both are based on the BFFness that has a lot of subtext.

I love how many girls fell in love with Gabrielle in later seasons and that it wasn't a big deal. My 2nd favorite ship was Gaby/Aphrodite.

Gabrielle/Joxer though...um no.

How can you not like Gabrielle/Joxer?

I liked when he told her how he really felt about her.

The only ones I ship romantically are Gab/Joxer and Xena/Ares. I slightly ship Joxer/Meg. Since he did like Meg.

Haha but I did think it was funny and cool that there were 3 other look-alikes of Xena.

Gabrielle was never interested in Joxer romantically, but she still wanted him to pine after her forever. It was selfish. I'm the same with guys, but I don't approve of it.

And I could never ship Gabrielle with a guy. I could Xena, but not her. To me she was gay even with the ridiculous marriage.

She had almost no male suitors (Xena had plenty) and she had at least 2 girls canon in love with her. Also she supposedly had sex just once in her life with a guy that she married after saying to Xena at the beginning of the series that she has no romantic feelings for.

Oh I ship pretty much every combination of girls romantically. Xena/Lao Ma is probably my 2nd favorite ship involving Xena, even though she was dead before the series started. She was so pretty.

I see what you mean.
But I still wouldn't ship Xena/Gabrielle romantically. For me I think they're better suited as friends.

And yea I see Xena had a history with the guys.

I mean there was Draco, Borias, Ares, Caesar (even though he turned against her), Antony... and I'm sure there was other guys who had a thing for her.

I mean for me the Xena/Ares relationship is a bit like the Buffy/Spike relationship. Because it's like this.. Spike loves Buffy, but Buffy doesn't really feel like that. That's basically how the X/A relationship is.

Btw I just rewatched Here She Comes...Miss Amphipolis and OMG I totally forgot about the ending where the he/she grabs Xena and kisses her.

Ahh I love that.
