Thanks for the votes and for posting here - it gets lonely talking to myself. Did you read me first post on this thread? That is what I am hoping to get on one day. Think how the Doctor Who board does it so well, I mean I suggested that back in its campaign and it worked plus it still works well on the DW board. Why not do it for all Metal with a Metallica board?

Could you possibly add a link to this thread and/or the music requests page in your signatures?

I just opened up a general discussion thread at the Music Board for Metallica. I might open up a general Metal thread soon too if no one else beats me to the punch. I would love to chat about heavier Metal too.

I am loving Death Magnetic! It is the best real full album they have released since Justice imho.

Thanks for requesting Metallica for next month Hot Rod!! You beat me to the punch.

Is anyone here upset or irritated by the LOUDNESS WAR that this album has decided to join? I thought it was only because the CD was a promo copy when I heard the tracks on the radio and online... Every track is a little too loud causing distortion, the sort of thing an amatuer could easily do when learning this stuff - not a band and producer who have been around for over 25 years in the biz, unless their eardrums are dead!? Yes, It does piss me off a bit. Great album by Metallica, but ruined a bit by that too loud and noisy feel to it...

I just found out that the Video Game Guitar Hero 3 has the entire Death Magnetic album and it is not OVERLY LOUD and distorted at all!!! I *coughed* the music tracks that someone ripped from it - it is true! I would have bought the PS2 version just for the tracks to rip them myself if someone else had not done it yet. This is how the CD should have sounded. I expect Metallica will release this CD again soon with these masters on it rather than the one they did release. Or replace those CDs affected free of charge. Reminds me of that Primus 'Brown Album' incident... This and 'The Monica Lewinski' incident where due to Digital Cameras, NO ONE other than the one reporter with a film camera kept the pictures of Monica in them holding Bill Clinton's hands and other photos...Digital age is great and all, but sometimes errors do happen. Keep this in mind, not everything newer is instantly 'better'.

Guitar Hero 3 is available on Wii, Xbox 360, PC, PS2 and PS3. There is a bonus version of 'Suicide & Redemption' too! It contains James Hetfield playing the main guitar heard on this version of the track, usually the version on the real CD has Kirk Hammett as the main guitar heard on it.

I am blown away at how much more I can hear in the Guitar Hero 3 version!!! I can hear James saying beats here and there where normally the real CD version has rumbling static. "1, 2, 3, 4!" Plus guitar riffs hidden under static is clearly heard, as are some drums, HEAPS of bass guitar is now heard!...list goes on.

I have no idea why Metallica is now not in this month's poll - even though 2 days ago on the forum requests thread it said Metallica was in Music Artists for this month of October... We got over 20 votes, have an active campaign thread plus it was nominated (by Hot Rod) so...where is Metallica for October?!

That's 7.5 days, not counting the 6.5 day gap before that.

So it must be once every 7 (or less) days for a month before the next polls? So this month Metallica will not be eligible because this post is the only one in October or is it fine because it has had a post within the closing 7 days of the polls for next month?

On topic now: I am still wondering if that 'mystery Metal producer' who remixed the Death Magnetic track 'Broken, Beat & Scarred' was in fact Bob Rock!

It needs to be active the month it is submitted as well as when it is on the polls [if it wins and isn't active, the next up would probably get used] though I've yet to see this happen.

So 1 post every 7 days or less means it will be in for next month, cool. That will be done this month.

Even with the outage, I still have made this thread active by posting in it at least once a week.

I have no new Metallica news, I just do wonder when they will tour Oz?! I thought they'd be here for the Big Day Out this Summer but no... They did headline the BDO a few years ago for the St Anger release.
