Requests - Metallica Campaign Thread #1

I hope any true metallers out there will vote for 'Tallica for 2 simple reasons: a) there has never been and probably will never be a metal band to earn a board on

unless we step up and vote for it and b) even if you hate Metallica with a vengeance then you should consider voting for it for the above reason (which makes us part of one big Metal family where we stick together no-matter-what) and because on the Metallica board there will probably be many threads devoted to other Metal bands from all of the sub-genres which you would not be able to find on any other board on

. I know I will want to chat about MANY other Metal bands from many different sub-genres!

The main reasons why I chose Metallica as the Metal band to request a board for are: This band is one of the first Metal bands I got into and have not 'grown-out-of-it'. Metal is not something you 'grow out of'. It is a genre of music that is a part of you. I always loved Metal before I even knew what it was. I honestly did not even know there were different genres of music back then!

But I did lean towards the heavy-end of the music that I was able to hear. (FNM, RHCP, Mr Bungle, Nirvana, AIC, NIN, GNR, Metallica...etc) I also believe that Metallica would be a great platform to get a 'Metal' board onto

. The name Metallica is well-known, for both good and bad things. Everyone has heard of Metallica so it is better picking this band rather than a more obscure one such-as Primordial, Malignant Monster, Dimmu Borgir, Suffocation or Virgin Black etc. I truly think that if enough of the Metal fans here on

band together and vote for this board, we can make it our home of Metal on

! Not just for Metallica, but for all Metal. That would be awesome!!

So far we have 11 votes so we are eligible for next month's polls, I am unsure if Tallica is nominated though...I might have done it? We shall have to wait and see.

Has anyone noticed Heard the sample track that has aired on the radio today?! Plus, the cover of Death Magnetic (the new CD) is interesting and basic. I like the 'M' logo at the sides of the name of the album on the cover so that it looks like magnetic waves flowing from it.

I thought Metallica was eligible for this month's polls as it had 12 votes for last month and I think I nominated it for this month too...

I just heard the new single on the radio. 'The day that never comes'. I liked it for the most part, the first half sounded like Fade to Black/Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - the last half sounded like Blackened. Not the tracks themselves obviously, but their sound and feel were along those lines.

So far, I think this album will be a good one.

Hey, I am devoted to Metal so I will post on this thread on my lonesome indefinitely if need be.

But I do welcome the company!

Do you agree with the ideas I posed in the opening post? It has worked well for our Doctor Who board we worked hard for in that campaign. I am about to listen to the second track released for Death Magnetic, My Apocalypse. The CD cover I hope to get is the mock up of Kill 'Em All with 'Kill 'Em All' replaced with Death Magnetic and the hammer replaced with a U-shaped magnet.

I just heard the last track on Death Magnetic, My Apocalypse. It is old school thrash Metallica! Far more than The Day That Never Came was.

Plus Trivium is also letting a few songs out of the bag from their new album Shogun, Down From The Sky is better than both of these Metallica tracks!!

ironically, they were kind of a Metallica cover band...

I`m also going to vote for Metallica in the September poll. I`ve been a fan of their`s for many years and would love to see them have their own board here at FF.
