^ I've never liked that novel. :(

OMFG Sean Bean :D Was great as Boramir but my heart was for his brother, Faramir :look:

Middle Earth would open it to anything not just Tolkien  name the board after his full name?

sourburst 11-22-2017 09:49 AM

That wouldn't work because Tolkien has written more than just Middle Earth based fiction. This is just for Middle Earth works.

crash landing 11-22-2017 09:50 AM

Can you see why Middle Earth wouldn't work though? there's other author's that have probably written within that type of fantasy genre

sourburst 11-22-2017 09:52 AM

Again, I did say that if no one else is confused by the notion of having all middle earth here that we can remain with The Lord of the Rings. But no I can't see what you mean when everything listed in this campaign OP is set in Middle Earth. Middle Earth is not a genre, it is a place Tolkien created.

I  Faramir!

sourburst 11-22-2017 09:56 AM

Better than Boromir by far.

There's plenty of time to figure it all out Jade :bubble: I just say that when the board is open and has been like a year or something, brand new :ff: that has had no idea what we had planned - maybe could come to the board wanting to talk about literature similar

I can see that Tolkien may have sore claim to middle earth but there's other's that have written in that type - Terry Brooks? and the one that wrote Legend of the Seeker

Similar yet different fantasy types but still similar

I'm fine with Lord of the Rings :bubble: cause its easier to define with how people should know that The Hobbit is connected too it - its the prequel, LoTR is just the most popular

sourburst 11-22-2017 10:03 AM

The traffic can be directed towards Books and Writing.

The Lord of the Rings it will remain. Again, I'm sure management will decide whether it is a re-open or new opening.

Sorry Jade and anyone else that sees me as arugmentive etc :group_hug: just trying to explain where brand new board has happened before

Plus explaining where the name change suggestion could cause issues ;) so let's just stick to Lord of the Rings plus Management decision on re-open or brand new

I was so upset he was cut out of the theatrical version, with Eowyn.

One last comment than I'm leaving it alone  not argumentive but again trying to explain where I was coming from :bubble: just a little organizatal suggestion|tip that could help the guide on spacing

Because Gandalf crosses over all three and we won't have three gandalf threads. The character threads are in alphabetical order, so whether a member is coming to look for a book character or hobbit character they will find them a lot quicker than having to go through 4 separate parts of the guide.

Wasn't suggesting 3 threads but instead of all the characters grouped all together - if there are characters that were primilarly in The Hobbit than maybe a 2nd section to put them in. So that its separated a little bit - not all mushed together as you've got it - a little more spaced out plus show which characters are main to Hobbit

I understand characters cross over but maybe a little space between the film franchises
