IKR? This is what he said about it in the article:

Or maybe he's swimming in the lake near Hogwarts? Although that's assuming we get Hogwarts back again. HAHA! I'm gonna speculate about this for now since we're gonna wait a long time for part 3.

There is a lake around Hogwarts right? And for all we know maybe Grindelwald is there because he found out Dumbledore is using the school's magic to keep himself protected. Of course I'm just speculating at this point.

Maybe they'd cut off the swimming part in the actual movie for all we know.

That's a good spec. Newt is most likely swimming to get something. Swimming scenes might be really tiresome for an actor too. I can imagine Eddie has to do that scene over and over.

Yeah no announcement yet. I think we'll know hopefully by this year and when they're doing post-production which is another 2 or 3 months.
