I might pay to meet James Marsden but only to a point. Like I'd pay $100 to meet Emily but I'd only pay $40 to meet James. You know what I mean?

And even then I've always thought paying just to meet celebrities is kinda...silly.

I'd rather pay extra at a show or a screening for a meet & greet or q&a if that's an option if I really wanted to meet a celeb.

Yeah I agree with that.

Paying to meet this seems kind of weird and I would much rather pay for something like that and then meet them through that.

This might actually be the unpopular opinion that I feel strongly about.

Like I get doing what makes you happy but also, especially in cons before covid, paying someone to hug up on you? Sorry, that's weird and there are are a billion better ways to spend $300 or whatever it costs to get into a con and meet celebs. I'm being judgy and ranting now. Sorry. See? I feel strongly about it.

I would feel so stupid to have them hug me. It would be a little forced (even with the really nice ones). Like the only reason is that you paid them and it would just seem weird to me.

I'll even say a simple hug, although still weird, isn't as bad as some of the other things you hear about at cons. It's goes beyond that and people end up posing like it's their damn prom pics or something and other even much weirder ****.
