Paul Thomas Anderson and Bradley Cooper, “Soggy Bottom” The return of Paul Thomas Anderson is at the top of many cinephiles’ wish lists for 2021. Made under the working title “Soggy Bottom,” Anderson’s latest teams him with Bradley Cooper, Alana Haim, Benny Safdie, and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s son Cooper in the story of a famous child actor who befriends an infamous Hollywood film producer in the 1970s San Fernando Valley. Bradley Cooper has not been on screen since “A Star Is Born,” arguably the best performance of his career so far, and following in the footsteps of Hoffman, Daniel Day Lewis, and Joaquin Phoenix as a PTA lead should only elevate Cooper’s acting career.
