Thanks for telling us. I had no idea. I thought you'd treat this thread as any other thread and make a new one once you've hit 300 posts. I'm glad to know that we can make this thread as long as we want. Also, I loved reading how you and Sanum came to love Bonnie. But I can't believe that your dad didn't think she was pretty enough to play Ginny! At least you ranted to him!

Yeah, it's good to know the rules for the board here, that way we can follow it all so Bonnie doesn't get disqualified when she's actually on the poll. It might be a good idea for everyone to read the rules which a located here:
Request Guidelines (Please Read or Risk Getting Removed Off The Polls)

Apparently there's been a recent change of rules saying that every item on the polls needs to have an active campaign thread starting with next months polls, so good thing we started the thread now.

Also, we need to move quickly to get Bonnie's name on the list for the next voting polls (which will be voted for in August, the list that's filled right now will be the voting polls for July), so if someone wants to keep on eye on that and move quickly to nominate Bonnie as soon as July rolls around. I would do it myself, but at that time I'll be staying with relatives as I wrap up my time here in Australia, so I'll have limited internet usage.

ETA: Also, now that we've got our campaign thread up and running, I think it would be best if we talk about voting and campaigning here only from now on. Leave the Ginny/Bonnie and Leo threads for their original purpose which is to talk about Harry Potter. Pretty much everyone there knows about the campaign for Bonnie now, and I think quite a few of us have links in our sigs, so for now that should be good since Bonnie's not even on the polls yet. I don't want them to have any reason to close our thread or disqualify Bonnie before we even get started. Also, it's really really important to remember that on the other threads on the HP board that we don't ask people to vote for Bonnie, just ask them to support Bonnie here at the campaign thread, which if they post here would probably mean that they would vote for her.

Whew, sorry that was a long one. I just think it's really important for everyone to understand the rules so we start off on the right foot.

Thank you so much, Meghan! I just read through all of the rules. I'm confused about one in particular though:

b) Do not ask for votes on other sites such as Livejournal, myspace, and other sites.

Does this mean what Kristi and I did was wrong? Since we tried to get people outside of the forum to sign up for fanforum, not for voting purposes at this time, but to help us campaign and then eventually vote? If I broke this rule it was completely unintentional, but I am still at fault because I didn't read the rules first.

I'll keep an eye on that, Meghan. I'll be sure that Bonnie is nominated as soon as we hit July.

Yeah, I think it might have been. I didn't know about that either until I read the rules after you guys did that. But, I think it might slide because it was Bonnie centric sites, aka BWO and her board on IMDB. So it would be like minded people, and that's different to say seding a message to all your friends on facebook or myspace asking them to vote for her. But, yeah, to be on the safe side, I would just stick to people here already.

Okay, I'll just stick to here. And you're right, it seems like it'd be okay because these are sites or boards that are related to Bonnie. And it wasn't an intentional thing that I did after reading the rules. It was because I didn't know and I thought it was okay.

And like you said, it's not like I'm just making a random bulletin on myspace asking people to come and vote for Bonnie when the time comes. Nor would I ever do that anyway.

Yeah, but credit's due to Meghan really, she caught us talking about a new thread and was able to tell that we hadn't read the rules yet. From now on I'm always going to read the rules before posting at a new board. I've learned my lesson.

I'd say don't post make a post about the campaign there, Joy. Even though it's a partially like-minded LJ community, it's outside of fanforum, and we're not allowed to recruit people outside of this community. I do understand why though. Thanks for the thought anyway, it's what counted!

Yeah, it's always good to read the rules. We kinda rushed into this cause we were all excited, but it's good to know what to do and what not to do.

So earlier when I was taking my long long nap, I had fun dreams about the Bonnie campaign and voting and stuff. It was all still fresh in my mind when I went to sleep and I was so excited!

Nice. Lol. That's awesome and really coincidental. Most people's minds tend to do that. We dream about the things that we've just been thinking about. It doesn't happen to me that often though. I have a severe lack of Bonnie/Ginny or H/G related dreams. I did have some cool ones about Bonnie back in December though when I was visiting my family in Michigan for Christmas. One of the dreams was that she got a really cute dress and was modeling it for me and asking me my opinion on it. And I had one about Dan and Bonnie back in March!

Oh yeah, that's wright! Now you got me started on the puns. Anyhow, that's a good idea. I think our slogan should be a combination of both yours and Joy's sayings. Our banner could say: "Vote Wright! Bonnie's Army is recruiting! Vote for a Bonnie Wright board!"

It's perfect! You two are geniuses. Or is that suggestion too repetitive?

Or it could just be: "Bonnie's Army is recruiting! Vote Wright!"

Yeah, unfortunately, unless they're Harry Potter fans or they like to know actors and actresses names like I do. Bonnie won't be unknown for long though. Hopefully after HBP and DH she'll be a household name like Dan, Emma and Rupert!
