Miss_Leonie- Added you! Welcome!

Janet- I heard that Schuyler originally wanted the role of Anne but they thought it was better to have a Canadian actress in the title role so they made her Diana.

wbjunkie- It's really great when a movie can match what you imagine when you read a book, so I was really pleased with the way she made Anne Shirley come to life.

Tina- Thanks so much for all your hard work! Your icons are stunning!

Yah I agree that a canadian actor should have played anne. But there is also audition tape of Skyuler as a red head and it seemed so wrong. That colour did not suit him.

I heard that Katherine Hepburn recommended Schuyler for the role of Anne.

I haven't seen Schuyler's audition tape, but yeah her colouring doesn't seem like it would work with red hair. Plus she seemed a bit stockier than how I imagined Anne to be.

Thank you Teenie!

Yeah she did. Schuyler is actually a blond which is really funny to me because I always think of her as someone with curly black hair.

I agree that Anne should be a Canadian actress. In the prequel it seems liek they have quite a few american actors.

Do you think they will remake Anne into a feature length film?

"The perennially freckled and red-haired Anne Shirley will return to television in 2008, with a new three-hour movie set to debut on CTV." (source)

Here's the IMDb link: Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning (2009) (TV)

Now, I have little hope for this, and all my hope relies on one person, and one person only: Jayne Eastwood. No, wait, I have three beacons of hope! Patricia Hamilton will be reprising the role of Rachel Lynde (and may I say: effing A!) and Ron Lea is listed as well. The one thing I'm not happy with is a certain actress missing from this.

Yeah! Welcome Chris!

Janet, I hope the prequel is good. I read somewhere that Kevin Sullivan still get angry mail about Anne3?

When is it coming out in the states?

Really? I'm not surprised. It wasn't popular.

Yeah, I thought that was kinda funny.

The one thing I don't understand about the prequel is...if it is before green gables...why is Mrs. Rachel Lynd in it? And how is Mrs. Lynd going to be in it without Marilla and Mathew?

^ Is the movie following the book? Before Green Gables was written by Budge Wilson

I don't know, unless she looks younger than she did 20 years ago. Oh, oh, oh! It's got old!Anne (just not played by Megan Follows ) I guess it's her reminiscing about her past. Ack!!! Guys, you may not want to read the synopsis on wikipedia, but it's here anyway: Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kelly, I think it is. Have you read the book?

Janet- I don't get it either. I thought we saw before green gables in the first 20 minutes of Anne of Green Gables.

Here are some pictures:
