It’s a remake from a version with Anjelica Huston that was made in 1990, based off a Ronald Dahl book. I saw the original movie, and it was OK, but when I read the book after seeing the movie, I got freaked out half-way through the book and threw it across the room and haven’t picked it up since.

Yeah, after the first 3 weren’t as successful that they were expecting, they decided to just drop it and not make the 4th one into a movie. I only saw the first one anyway.
