The trailer made it look good, that's why i watched it, but it's not action packed. Nothing happens in episode one or two. It's all just religions having debates.

Well, at least now that I know that I'll watch aware of it and not expecting lots of action it really sucks when we're expecting something and ended up with something completely different

I thought it was going to be gritty, because we all know what 5th November is about. But man was i wrong. And yes, the torture was a great addition. Hung drawn and quartered is one of my favs.

I enjoy watching the intrigue so I don't mind if there is not a lot of action. I'm also watching a 3 part BBC documentary called Elizabeth I's Secret Agents which is very interesting because the events in that show come just before the events in Gunpowder. I love anything to do with spying and double crossing.

That would have been me back a day I guess it depends on what sort of person you are now, whether you enjoy gore and people getting what they deserve.

Yeah I've seen some people commenting that the story and history facts are really great in Gunpowder, so I'm curious to see that. Because even without lots of action, I can enjoy a good story.

There isn't really a story line in it. It's just catholic and protestants going at it. If religion is your thing and watching people sit doing nothing, then you'll love it for sure.

Well, I'll watch and see... taste for stories can be very different from one another. I happen to be curious to watch the mini-series

Well, I didn't like it either. Catesby was made out more sympathetic than he should have been for what he was, nothing more than a religious bigot turned terrorist. And in today's society no less!
