I think Stannis was so blind by becoming king he lost himself, specially following Melisandre's advice, but in his core he probably had a better sense of justice.
But yeah, Davos really was wrong about him  And I like that he allied himself to Jon  __________________

I don't blame Stannis for blindly following Melisandre. But I was never really impressed with him on a leadership scale. Sometimes I was hot and cold with him but more often I was impartial. Davos' loyalty to him was nice to see but at least it didn't get him killed and he was able to ally himself with Jon later on.

Stannis was never charismatic, and that was even stated by characters when mentioning him...
I am glad that he sent Davos to the Wall before killing Shireen because I'm sure that Davos wouldn't allow that and he would be killed trying to prevent that. __________________

That ep was also controversial. I remember some fans quit watching the show because of that scene.

They were probably smart to quit early too given how things are now but they missed the show's best season afterwards if they quit after that ep.

I think that if a person watched the show till season 5, that's too much time invested to quit before the ending... but I guess now that the show's final season is being completely torn apart they can proudly say "I dropped that a long time ago
